About This Site

Simply stated? I started this website because I think the retroactive provision of the CPSIA law is, in a word, ridiculous.

Additionally:

-although my sister and I operate two consignment stores and a thrift to benefit local nonprofits and,  we are able to eliminate selling kid's clothing and gear without completely shutting down our businesses, we know how very fortunate we are.

-I feel such empathy for the owners of children's resale, consignment and thrift shops. We do the same thing, day in day out, and it's takes a special kind of individual to own their own business. Particularly the business of resale, consignment and thrift.

-So many owners of businesses in this industry have either yet to find out about the law and how it will impact their business, or they have just found out and don't know where to turn. Although many in this business are members of the National Association of Retails and Thrift Shops (NARTS), the only industry association, many are not. If you are not a member, please consider joining and adding yourself to the number of industry professionals that are concerned about this law, and learn what NARTS is doing about the law for it's members and the resale industry as a whole.

Disclaimer: Please note that this site is my own creation. It is not sponsored by, approved by or affliated with NARTS or any other business or association. It is simply my small effort of perhaps contributing some sort of useful help to fellow shop owners being affected by the retroactivity provision of this law.
