Save Kid's Resale & Consignment Shops!

I think this is a stupid law. I am a single mother of 2 daughters, ages 6 yrs & 1 month old. I am 25 yrs old and when I was little I wore used and hand me down clothes. And my 6 yr old did and still does too. And so does my new baby. I can not afford to buy all new clothes for either of them. Noone can afford to buy all new clothes for their kids the way the economy is now. Even if it wasnt down then still, noone could!! It is ridiculous!!!! My kids wear used clothes and are fine. They even play with used toys & read used books. I think this law should be overruled!! And I think everyone needs to try to get it that way! What about the people that are less fortunate than what I am. What are they susposed to do to cloth their children?? This is the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard of!!! Stop buying stuff from China and other country and the problem will be solved!!

I opened a children's consignment shop 8 months ago. This will have a devastating effect on me and my dreams, as well as thousands of other consignment shops, thrift stores, salvation army and more. This law is too broad and needs to be amended. It is ridiculous. Write to your congressman. We the People......can make a difference. Write, share and do whatever you can to stop the insanity. The economy is bad enough, why in the world would anyone think this is a good law?

My mother and I have owned a children's consignment shop for 15years.It would be devastating if we had to shut our doors.This is our livelihood.We feel we give back to the community.The customers are able to save dollars on baby clothing and items.And also make money on items they have sold.Especially in these times!What about making more products here in the United states than over seas in China and being able to regulate the products better.And creating more jobs for Americans.

I not only use consignment for myself, I encourage others to so they can save money in these hard times. I recently gave gifts that I couldn't have afforded otherwise. I encourage everyone to do our part to stop this law!

I am completely horrified by the "Mommy Blogger" comment made by Julie Vallese. I am so extremely proud of what I have accoumplished and rightly consider myself a businesswoman. My livliehood is important to me and I will fight for my right to use my God given talents to create cherished hand made gifts for children and to survive in this economy. What the heck is wrong with our government?

Get the government off the backs of native americans and other crafts people who sell clothes and toys

Lead is more likely from china..let's boycott China goods if the US is doing this to us!!!!

I think this so crazy, I mean do they even know what they are doing? People now days can barley buy clothing for there children more less pay full price when you have 3 or more kids. Do they even think of the many thefts that are going to happen more often because of this law, and because of the thefts our taxes are going to be SKY High! Help us Lord.

Everything from China HAS been tested safe. It just doesn't have "the mark" to certify it. But our government wants to classify it all as HAZARDOUS in one broad sweep. What about the pens and pencils that our children use in school? Where does it end? STOP IT NOW! Send a letter to your Congress person.

Why not FORCE the toy COMPANIES who buy this crap from CHINA to test this crap themselves??? They're the ones who should have to get this stuff tested.

I say stop buying ANYTHING from CHINA and problem will be solved. ...nothing with lead in it.
