XRF Analyzers & Testing
Disclaimer: I am not an attorney. The CPSIA law has me just as confused as you are at this time. It is not entirely clear to me, or maybe even anyone, whether or not using xrf analyzers to test the inventory of your store would satisfy and make your inventoy compliant with the CPSIA law and allow you to continue selling your inventory after February 10th, 2009.
It seems reasonable, albeit time-consuming and costly, doesn't it?Especially if it would mean you could stay open. But, no one has yet to answer the question directly from the CPSC, in writing, whether this would be an acceptable course of action to take as we all fight to have Congress change the law to make the lead requirements not retroactive as of February 10th. The CPSC seems completely bogged down in dealing with putting this law into action. Ultimately, getting Congress to change the law is what we all want and need!
You must investigate CPSIA for yourself, and decide for yourself, what to do about it as the February 10th date quickly approaches. Hopefully you will do so with the advice of a well-versed attorney (and no, I don't know where you can find one, I'm sorry to say). Okay, so learn about xrf analyzers and testing.
The information and links provided on this site about xrf technology and testing is purely for informational purposes. And no, I don't own a testing service, an xrf analyzer or am I being paid to mention this technology or recommend any other service or web site that may be referenced here. In case you were wondering!
